I enjoyed the quiz and was a “sleep genius”  lol.  It is still great information.  I would not have thought of a glass of milk to help me sleep.  I usually take melatonin (probably spelled wrong).  And sometimes I will get on my phone and play a dumb game.

Awesome quiz! I managed to get 8/10 and score 80% which is not bad. I got questions one and six wrong. It looks like I was slightly off on the numbers. After taking a Masterclass on sleep, I’ve been super conscious about getting good sleep recently. I found that having a sleep tracking device such as a Fitbit helps a little bit. What’s your opinion on sleep tracking devices?

    • Nice work Kevin on the quiz!

Good sleep matters. Good sleep is essential for good overall health. Sleep tracking devices are a great tool to obtain information about one’s sleep patterns and trends and use this information to make changes for better sleep. Paying attention to your sleep is the first step to getting better sleep.

However, don’t rely on smart trackers completely. They provide just a general look into your sleep patterns. Be careful not to become too obsessed with perfecting your wearable sleep data. Or else, it might get in the way of achieving good sleep at night.

If you really want to get better sleep, follow good sleep hygiene. Life can get in the way, but simply try to consistently go to bed and wake up at the same time each day. Make your bedroom calm, cool, dark, relaxed, and device-free to help you fall asleep faster for a good night’s sleep!

Loved this quiz. I have always struggled with my sleep, mostly with getting to sleep as the brain is too active. Developing a good night time routine has really helped me along with some relaxation and meditation before bed to help calm my mind. I still don’t get the recommended amount but do now sleep a little better.

Can you please explain the answer to question 3 in the sleep quiz? Thanks.

    • A “white noise” device, such as a fan, can help drown out ambient sounds, such as traffic. Try to avoid watching TV or using a computer, smartphone, or hand-held game console, before bed. The blue light exposure from these devices may lower your levels of melatonin, the hormone that makes you drowsy and brings on sleep.

Thank you for taking our quiz!
